We must first start with the beginning and how Edom came about. Issac's (Ytzhak) wife Rebekah (Ribkah) gave birth to twin sons. While the sons were still within Ribkah they struggled within her, meaning they was at war with each other spiritual. This was revealed in the birth of the children in who's Hebrew name's reveals something special. When Ribkah was in labor, the first child came out and the scripture mentions the baby being“red” or better interpreted “reddish-black.” Some teach this“red” means the baby was white, but the Hebrew word for white was never used in this scripture. The “reddish-black” best describes the brown color of African decent. This baby was named Esau (Esav) which primary meaning is a “bird” as he will try to set in the stars of the heavens (shamayim). The secondary meaning of Esav is stubble as he will be stubble one day. Ribkah other son that followed after Esav was Jacob (Yaqub) which ancient meaning is watching and guarding His house.
